President Joe Biden outrageously pardoned his disgraced son Hunter on Sunday night. This came as a major shock to many, given the fact that Joe had promised many times over the years that he would not do this.
The pardon applies to any crimes that Hunter may have committed from January 1, 2014, through December 1, 2024. Hunter had been found guilty in a gun case back in June.
Hunter was also facing trial over three felony tax offenses and six misdemeanor tax offenses. This was related to his failure to pay at least $1.4 million in taxes.
On Monday’s episode of the ABC talk show The View, Whoopi Goldberg came unglued as her co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, who previously worked in Donald Trump’s White House, called out Joe for lying to the American people. Indeed, it didn’t take long for this segment to go off the rails.

“I take issue with lying about it. I wanted to ask [Biden] here when he came on ‘The View,’ but the thought was he said so many times he wasn’t going to pardon him. That, to me, is lying to the public. I felt bad for Karine Jean-Pierre; she had to say he wasn’t going to pardon him. That’s why they don’t trust Washington or politicians and I know a lot of us like Joe Biden, but I find it disappointing and bad for our institutions,” Griffin said during the discussion.“I respect it as a parent. I understand why he would do it, but I wanted to understand why lie about it for so long?” Goldberg interjected, “I would stop calling it a lie.”
Griffin, however, refused to back down.
“Why repeatedly saying you’re not not going to, and you do?” she questioned. “The half of the country that doesn’t support Biden and doesn’t get to have phone calls and they’re looking at a system that only benefits the people who are in power. What precedent does that set?”
Goldberg Hits Back
Goldberg fired back by shifting to her favorite pastime of bashing President-Elect Trump. She claimed that “we’ve elected somebody who was in a similar situation who didn’t have a drug problem, who knew what he was doing. Who clearly stood and said, ‘I can do this’ and he did it.”
Goldberg went on to back Joe by claiming that the president initially didn’t plan to pardon Hunter, but then changed his mind.
“I think he said, ‘Well, why am I busting my behind to stay straight and do this when nobody is? When no one else is?’” she said.

Goldberg can defend her beloved Joe all that she wants to, but there’s no denying that he lied about this. Indeed, Joe had said numerous times over the years that he was not even considering pardoning his son. He most recently claimed this back in June of this year. At the time, when asked if he had “ruled out a pardon” for his son, Joe emphatically replied, “Yes.”
“I abide by the jury decision. I will do that and I will not pardon him,” Joe said at the time as Hunter was facing trial in the Delaware gun case.
Joe pardoning Hunter just goes to show that the entire Biden family is as crooked as they come. In the end, despite what Goldberg says, this pardon ensures that Joe will go down in history as one of the worst presidents of all time
