As Joe Biden makes his run to the White House, he will become more heavily scrutinized with each passing week. This will undoubtedly include his public speech ability.
The latter has come under fire in recent months, as Republicans claim Biden isn’t “fit” to be President. On the flip side, Democrats say there’s nothing wrong with the former Vice President.
But those who know him well might disagree.
For instance, former White House stenographer Mike McCormick has issued some concerning statements about the Democrat presidential hopeful’s “mental acuity.”
McCormick went on record saying he sees significant changes in Biden over the past four years.
Furthermore, he worked closely with Biden so his words and observations may hold some weight. It’s likely his words could also help Donald Trump’s campaign.
Via Fox News (citing a Washington Free Beacon interview):
Joe Biden’s former White House stenographer said the vice president’s public speaking ability has deteriorated significantly since leaving office to the point where he’s ‘not the same Joe Biden.’
‘It is a complete difference from what he was in 2017. He’s lost a step and he doesn’t seem to have the same mental acuity as he did four years ago.’
McCormick was a White House stenographer for 15 years and was with Biden from 2011 through 2017.
And according to his recent book, “Joe Biden Unauthorized,” McCormick says he traveled with the Vice President and transcribed his speeches, public conversations, and off-the-record media briefings.
McCormick simply believes Biden is now “a different guy.”
Notably, he says Biden once did very well with speeches and didn’t require much coaching. But that has also changed:
He’d just make a big joke out of it, and go straight from the hip. And notice, he’s not doing that anymore.
He read that [Democratic National Committee speech] verbatim … it’s not Joe Biden anymore.
Biden’s mental health will continue to be a hot topic of debate in the coming weeks, and voices like McCormick’s could have an impact on the 2020 election.
The question now is whether or not Biden will stand on a debate stage with Trump. And if he does, what might be the result…?
