President Joe Biden’s speeches haven’t always gone exactly as planned. Cameras often capture several stumbles and gaffes, which in turn fly across social media like wildfire.
But this time, a curious incident is making waves — and it doesn’t have anything to do with Biden’s speaking ability.
During a speech on Tuesday in Menlo, Iowa, the President was giving a speech “in a barn of some sort” (according to a TMZ report) and something landed on Biden’s shoulder … something white.
Of course, most of the world immediately viewed it as bird poo, which touched off a firestorm of jokes online.
Ironically, Biden was talking about lowering living costs for Americans and addressing the infrastructure and inflation issues. At about this time, that white spot appeared on the President’s shoulder.
Donald Trump Jr. was one of the first to seize on the event:

It isn’t really clear that it’s fowl poo, though most are just assuming it is right now. This includes former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, Monica Crowley, who tweeted:
“We are all the bird that pooped on him.”
RNC Rapid Response Director Tommy Pigott added: “When even birds know your lies about inflation are full of it.”
For weeks now, the Biden administration has been pinning most of the blame for inflation on Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Ukraine war.
However, this doesn’t sit well with many Republican leaders and millions of citizens, who have been experiencing inflation since well before war broke out. Last month, inflation hit a 40-year high of 8.5%.
So it stands to reason that a few people are going to smirk when a bird craps on the President during a speech.
Even so, the White House is saying it isn’t what we think:

To many, it doesn’t really look like corn, given the color and the way it landed.
Maybe we’ll never know what it was, but the incident highlights one thing above all: many Americans simply are unhappy with the Biden administration and the current state of the country.
In recent polls, the majority of those surveyed (anywhere from 60-70 percent, depending on the poll) believe the U.S. is heading in the “wrong direction.”
And if that’s the case, expect a lot of laughing when it appears as if the Commander-in-Chief gets pooped on.
