Joe Biden seems to be dodging assault allegations made by a former staffer, Tara Reade. But it looks like he can’t outrun them forever.
He let his campaign issue a denial, but the man himself has refused to discuss it. But even the mainstream media can no longer ignore the growing story.
And now, even newspaper the Washington Post is demanding Biden talk.
From The Hill:
The Washington Post editorial board on Wednesday called on former Vice President Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, to address allegations of a 1993 sexual assault from former aide Tara Reade and release documents relating to his Senate career.
Woah. Even the Washington Post’s editorial board called on Biden to address Reade’s allegations.
They claimed there are “no clear conclusions” as of right now. But they say the many Senatorial records from Biden’s time in office might shed some light on the situation.
Reade said she filed a complaint back then. Among the 1,875 boxes and 425 GB of records, it might be in there.
But the University of Delaware, which owns the documents, refuses to release them.
The Washington Post says that’s not good enough. They are calling on those documents to be released so that the public can know all that is “able to be known.”
Seems pretty reasonable to me. There might not be airtight evidence to prove Reade’s claim. But allegations like this are serious enough to pursue, right?
Remember when a woman claimed she was assaulted by Brett Kavanaugh over 30 years ago? The Senate hired a prosecutor to question both people to get to the facts.
The entire country was debating and discussing the story, picking apart every piece of evidence (or lack, thereof).
Now, we have a presumptive presidential nominee being accused. Yes, he’s innocent until proven guilty. But how can we find out for sure, unless we get all the information?
Right now, Biden seems unwilling to fork over information. And many on the left are trying to run interference for him.
That includes the University of Delaware.
But the dam is cracking. With the New York Times and Washington Post calling him out, Biden might have no chance but to open up.
So long as the public keeps putting pressure on the media, and his campaign.
SHARE if you want all the details about these allegations to come out in the open.
