After J.D. Vance Lands VP Nomination, Reports Swirl on His Senate Replacement

It’s been two days since Donald Trump announced Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH) as his running mate for this year’s presidential election.

This means that if Trump wins the election, Governor Mike DeWine (R) will potentially need to name a replacement for Vance to finish out his Senate term.

Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) is now saying that he would like to see the former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy be this replacement.

Ramaswamy has since responded that he would be interested in replacing Vance.

From Fox News:
“I hope Vivek is Governor DeWine’s choice. I mean, he’d be a great senator if he wants it,” Banks said, though he pointed out that he is not involved in Ohio politics.

Ramaswamy suggested he would be open to the nod in a statement to Fox News Digital on Monday, “I have rock-solid conviction that JD will be an outstanding VP for President Trump. The only negative is this leaves our side missing one of our best fighters in the Senate. If asked to serve, I would strongly consider the position and would discuss with President Trump which path makes the most sense for our country.”

Many will undoubtedly agree that Ramaswamy is precisely the kind of person the Republican Party needs in the Senate. He’s fiercely intelligent and incredibly charismatic. At 38, Ramswamy also has youth on his side, which means that he could potentially be a leader in the Republican Party for decades to come.

Should Ramaswamy not be named as Vance’s replacement, he’s indicated he’s interested in joining Trump’s cabinet.

From The Hill:
“We’ve talked about a lot of different possibilities, President Trump and I. I mean, we talk regularly. I spoke to him, actually most recently, it was after midnight on the night that he suffered that injury, tragedy, assassination attempt on Saturday night,” he said.

“So, we‘ve talked about different ideas, potentially, in a Cabinet or other ways of driving change,” he added.

Liberals would undoubtedly lose their minds if Ramaswamy gets any kind of power in the Republican Party, as there’s nobody they despise more than a minority that holds conservative views. They prefer to think of Republicans as “old white men,” and anyone who challenges that notion like Ramaswamy does is sure to be targeted by the left like nobody else.

Last night, Ramaswamy once again showcased his political prowess when he spoke at the Republican National Convention. There, Ramaswamy urged Americans everywhere to unite behind Trump.

From Politico:
“Trump is the President who will actually UNITE this country – not through empty words, but through action. Success is unifying. Excellence is unifying. That’s who we are as Americans.”

Whether he ends up replacing Vance or being in Trump’s cabinet, it’s clear Ramaswamy is going places in the Republican Party. Democrats can kick and scream all that they want to, but Vivek Ramaswamy is here to stay!

Key Takeaways:

  • Calls for Ramaswamy to replace J.D. Vance as Senator.
  • Ramaswamy may join Trump’s cabinet.
  • Ramaswamy has indicated interest in both positions.
