After Twitter Cancels “What Is a Woman” – Elon Musk Makes a Move That Brings His Fans Back in Droves

The fallout happened just a few days ago: The Daily Wire and Matt Walsh’s “What is a Woman” was slated to be released for free on Twitter, but it didn’t happen.

The social media giant suddenly said they’d label the documentary as “hateful conduct” and severely restrict its reach due to “misgendering.” This came as a complete surprise to The Daily Wire team and its followers.

However, Twitter owner Elon Musk quickly said it was a mistake — then did something that delighted his fans.

Musk had been the champion of free speech ever since acquiring the social media corporation last year, and he’d often spoken out against the far left and its controversial ideology.

But some conservatives haven’t been huge fans of Musk’s recent moves, which includes a questionable hire as CEO.

And when “What is a Woman” got “woke-ified” and essentially banished from the platform, Musk’s fans weren’t happy. But in a very short span of time, the billionaire set things right.

Via The Daily Wire:

Elon Musk retweeted The Daily Wire’s groundbreaking documentary ‘What Is A Woman?’ early Friday, after his own social media platform undermined its airing on Twitter hours earlier with a barrage of restrictions.

Early Friday, Twitter’s tag restricting the visibility of ‘What is a Woman?’ was removed, allowing Twitter users to like and retweet the documentary, and Musk tweeted out the film to his 140 million followers.

The post immediately went viral and has since racked up over 27.4 million views and 61,000 retweets.

Musk had originally promised to let the film air without that “hateful conduct” label but apparently, his employees ignored that order or weren’t aware of it. That was the apparent “mistake.”

At the time, Daily Wire Co-CEO Jeremy Boreing tweeted that the label happened almost immediately after Musk promised it wouldn’t be applied.

Elon swore the film “definitely followed” Twitter’s rules and later responded to a tweet from Walsh, saying the issue would be “fixed tomorrow.” And it does seem that that’s the case, with Musk helping to spread the film himself.

Walsh responded to Musk’s tweet with thanks:

The documentary first released last summer and was viewed in over 70 countries, and ultimately became the most watched movie at home according to Rotten Tomatoes. It even held a 97% audience rating.

The response to the movie was expected: the left lost their minds and conservatives applauded.

And it’s important to note that multiple states have moved to ban “gender-affirming” surgeries on minors, and more and more critics are questioning the pushing of trans ideology on children.

At any rate, it seems like Elon has regained the faith of his followers, though some still wonder how Twitter could’ve made the mistake in the first place…

Key Takeaways:

  • After Twitter labeled “What is a Woman” as “hateful conduct,” owner Elon Musk called it a “mistake” and promised to fix it in less than 24 hours.
  • Today, Musk had the label removed and tweeted the documentary himself. Elon has over 140M followers.
  • The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh thanked Elon for the promotion, and the tweet of the film has already been viewed 27.4M times.
