President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address focused on supposed “wins” and the upholding of democracy. But many critics quickly ripped the speech for being misleading and some claimed Biden flat-out lied.
Others accused Biden of omitting key crises and issues that plague the country, including the border.
Former POTUS Donald Trump went even farther, though — he outlined Biden’s biggest failures, while making America a new promise.
Trump shredded Biden’s address and zeroed in on economic woes, Washington corruption, rising crime, and the border crisis. Trump used some disturbing statistics in referencing the border crisis:
Here’s the real State of the Union: Over the past two years under Biden, millions and millions of illegal aliens from 160 different countries have stormed across our southern border.
All told, 4.2 million migrants have been arrested by authorities since Biden took office in early 2021. That’s a record high.
Then there’s the fentanyl epidemic, which has now claimed over 71,000 deaths in the country, marking a significant uptick from the already concerning 57,834 in 2020.
Trump said “drug cartels are now raking in billions of dollars from smuggling poison to kill our people and our children.”
The former President then ripped the “weaponizing of the DOJ” and the assault on free speech, a common topic among Republicans and millions of concerned citizens today.
Previously, Trump laid out a plan that would protect our children from “woke indoctrination,” and would solidify freedom of speech for all Americans, and not just those who are immune to any pushback from the MSM.
In the end, Trump delivered a new promise (from Breitbart):
Trump then pledged he would ‘reverse every single crisis, calamity, and disaster that Joe Biden has created’ if elected president, vowing he will ‘complete the unfinished business of Making America Great Again.’
Nobody else has thrown their hat into the GOP ring for 2024 just yet, so it’s clear that Trump is making an early campaign push for another term.
Just this week, some polls showed that the majority of Americans – including Democrats – don’t want Biden to run again, so Democrats may need to search for a new candidate.
Key Takeaways:
- Former President Donald Trump delivered the “real” State of the Union after Biden’s speech.
- Trump outlined the border crisis, rising violent crime, falling earnings for Americans, and the assault on freedom of speech.
- He also promised to “complete the unfinished business of Making America Great Again” if he’s re-elected in 2024.
