President Trump has worked hard for the American people.
That’s the entire purpose of his trade war with China: he wants to stop China’s unfair trade practices, for the sake of our citizens.
That’s why he hit the Eastern superpower with heavy tariffs, and the results speak for themselves:
It’s a $30 billion windfall for America!
That’s how much extra we’ve brought in after the tariffs dropped in July 2018, and it’s just another significant victory for the Trump administration.
But where is that money going…?
Well, Sen. Rick Scott (R-Florida) has a fantastic idea — he wants to give some of it right back to the American people!
Via Washington Times:
Sen. Rick Scott, Florida Republican, has been meeting with the White House on a proposal that would pass along tariff revenue in the form of tax cuts.
‘Sen. Scott supports the president’s efforts to get tough on China, but any revenue brought into the federal government should be returned to the taxpayers,’ Scott spokeswoman Sarah Schwirian said.
Now THAT’S a great idea, don’t you think?
Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) followed this up with a plan that would specifically benefit the blue-collar workers of our great nation:
Cotton just filed legislation that “would gather tariff revenue and give it to working-class taxpayers in the form of a rebate check that arrives several months after tax-filing season.”
Cotton said there’s “no reason” why those incredible tariff revenues couldn’t be redistributed among American citizens.
And most people would qualify for that rebate, too:
U.S. adults who are citizens or legal residents, file federal taxes and earn less than $84,200 as individual filers or $168,400 as joint filers would be eligible for rebate checks.
This sounds like the perfect plan, and it makes perfect sense, too.
After all, didn’t Trump do this for the sake of the country? Didn’t he take on China because we were getting the short end of the stick?
Well, we’re all consumers, which means we all got the short end of that stick.
Now that Trump has fixed the situation, it only makes sense that America’s hardest-working people get a little boost!
Do you support the idea of these tax rebates for U.S. workers?
SHARE and spread the word!
