President Trump Smashes Record On His Birthday – In Just One Day, Republicans Raised $14 Million

What’s Happening:

Last Sunday marked several significant milestones. It was Flag Day, a holiday when Americans honor the day the official flag was adopted. It was also the 245th birthday of the United States Army, which was founded on June 14, 1775.

In addition, it was Donald Trump’s 74th birthday. Supporters of the president offered congratulations online and across the country.

On top of that, the GOP and Trump campaign broke another record on the same day:

The Republican National Committee and the Trump campaign posted their largest online fundraising day ever on Sunday, bringing in $14 million across three entities on the president’s birthday — smashing their previous online fundraising record of $10 million on Oct. 19, 2016.

Why It’s Important:

Under Donald Trump’s leadership, the Republican Party has been breaking fundraising records for years. It appears the swelling enthusiasm among conservatives to re-elect the president has amounted to unprecedented donations.

In this primary season, the GOP and Trump campaign have consistently outraised Democrats. The combined groups have approximately $255 million cash in their war chest. Joe Biden and the Democrats have less than half of that, around $100 million. That is before the DNC’s debt is factored into it, something that has dogged the party for years.

In just one day, the Trump campaign raised $14 million. This suggests that even after raising over $200 million, Americans are still eager to open their wallets for the president. It appears they are far from done helping the man stay in the White House.

Considering this record comes after three months of economic stagnation from the lockdowns and civil unrest, these donations speak much more than just the dollar amount.

Key Takeaways:

  • June 14—Donald Trump’s birthday—marked a record day for GOP fundraising: $14 million.
  • The GOP and Trump campaign have over $150 million more funds that Biden and the DNC.
  • Trump supporters reached this milestone, after crippling lockdowns that stalled the economy.
