Trump Reveals Surprise New Plan – It’s a ’16 Week’ Move that Leaves Democrats Speechless

Joe Biden has some of the worst approval ratings in modern presidential history. Many Americans blame him for the very crises hitting the country. Inflation continues to be a top problem. So does crime and the open border. Plus, many fear that Biden’s foreign policy could lead to global war.

Yet, Biden has a got chance at winning reelection, because he’s focusing on abortion.

Despite his many failures, Biden is assured Democrats will vote for him, as long as he promises radical abortion protections. His campaign has vowed to codify Roe v Wade and force red states to allow the practice. Now, Donald Trump has revealed his new stance on the issue, in the hope of winning pro-choice voters.

From Fox News:
Former President Trump weighed in on the abortion debate, which has been a politically fraught subject for Republicans.

Reports claim Trump has discussed having a ban on abortions after 16 weeks of pregnancy with three exceptions: rape, incest and the life of the mother.

“Pretty soon, I’m going to be making a decision. And I would like to see if we could do that at all. I would like to see if we could make both sides happy.”

Donald Trump revealed he is going to support an abortion policy that will make “both sides happy.” It is unlikely that is going to work, considering how polarized both sides are on the issue.

For decades, conservatives have demanded a nationwide abortion ban. Nothing short of that will satisfy that base. Conversely, abortionists are now demanding “abortion-on-demand” a policy that does not put any limits on abortions. Some Democrats even want abortions just before—and after—birth.

Trump may recommend a ban on abortions after 16 weeks, with rape and incest as exceptions. Another exception would be saving the life of the woman.

Many “pro-choice” countries have 16-week bans. This could appeal to pro-choice voters who balk at Republicans’ aggressive pro-life approach. But it is unclear how this stance will go over with Trump’s largely conservative base.

He has just secured the GOP nomination. Now, he is likely to be going after voters in the middle. Republicans will not vote for Joe Biden, so they are forced to stick with Trump.

If Trump wants to defeat Biden, he will need to draw away enough independent voters who want pro-choice policies. A 16-week ban might be enough to win over moderates from swing states.

But it could upset many far-right Republicans.

Key Takeaways:

  • Donald Trump is considering a 16-week ban on abortions.
  • This is a pivot from his previous pro-life stance.
  • Joe Biden is making abortion a winning issue in 2024.
