Former President Donald Trump is in the midst of a legal crisis, which may or may not have a negative impact on his 2024 campaign.
Some say the indictment will hurt his chances, but others point toward rising support among die-hard Trump supporters.
And new evidence supports the idea that in fact, the former POTUS is cashing in already.
Not long after Trump announced he was likely to be arrested, a few surveys showed a sudden jump in the polls for the controversial GOP leader.
Now, that jump in the polls has been bolstered by some serious cash rolling in — and it’s a new record.
From Breitbart:
Former President Donald Trump’s campaign fundraising soared $7 million after news of the indictment Thursday evening, Jason Miller, senior adviser to Trump, announced Monday.
🚨In only three days since news of the indictment, President @realDonaldTrump’s campaign has raised a record $7M.🚨#MAGA 🇺🇸

It could be the historic nature of this fiasco that people are getting behind; no President or former President has ever been formally indicted before.
Additionally, Trump supporters point toward the alleged weakness of the case, and the theory that it’s just another political witch hunt.
Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg is a central figure in the case as well, and his critics point toward a history of weak-on-law policies and decisions.
As for Trump himself, he started fighting back the instant the news came down that he’d be arrested.
He wrote on Truth Social:
This is Political Persecution and Election Interference at the highest level in history.
You remember it just like I do: Russia, Russia, Russia; the Mueller Hoax; Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine; Impeachment Hoax 1; Impeachment Hoax 2; the illegal and unconstitutional Mar-a-Lago raid; and now this.
It seems clear that Trump fans are responding to the crisis, and are racing to boost Trump’s 2024 campaign.
If this outpouring of support continues, expect #45 to have quite the war chest as he powers down the campaign trail this year and next.
Key Takeaways:
- Former President Donald Trump raked in $7M for his 2024 campaign.
- This appears to be a direct result of the indictment, as Trump supporters have flocked to help.
- Trump has maintained his innocence and called it “political persecution and election interference.”
