Democrat prosecutors have indicted Trump, in four criminal cases. But that is not the only legal trouble facing the former president.
A left-wing Democrat DA out of New York has long vowed to “take down” the Trump Enterprise. Manhattan prosecutors are suing Trump, claiming he overvalued his properties.
A seemingly minor issue has blown up into a stunning scandal. Trump maintains his innocence, though some claim he isn’t getting a fair trial. And after leaving the latest hearing, he gave this somber warning to New York.

Trump warned the city of New York that businesses are “watching” this civil trial unfold. Democrats prosecutors have gone after Trump’s business, over what some claim is a vendetta against the Republican.
The former president warned New York city that businesses will not come back to New York, perhaps a nod to those who have left during COVID. And he warned that “no business will frankly stay in New York” because of what is transpiring.
Trump appears to be saying that businesses, not wanting to face the same kind of harassment that he is facing, will leave New York. He called DA James’ campaign against him a “Marxist form of trying to steal your business.”
In reality, Trump does not appear to be far off the mark. Since 2020, many wealthy residents have been fleeing New York. It started due to the strict lockdown rules during COVID. So many New Yorkers left that the former governor feared a tax revenue drought.
With those residents went their businesses. It seems more and more businesses are choosing to invest in red states, like Texas and Florida. Democrat-run states have enacted strict regulations and heavy taxes, driving away businesses.
Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez infamously killed a deal between New York and Amazon, which cost the city billions in wages and revenue. Now, it is possible businesses will avoid New York, out of fear Letitia James will do to them what she is currently doing to Trump.
