Primary voting will begin in a matter of days. If the polls hold true, Donald Trump will dominate every other Republican candidate for president.
Many supporters are looking to Trump to reveal his plans for a possible second term.
He’s already laid out much of his agenda, as well as made promises to the American public. But one crucial issue has yet to be revealed. And he just told Fox News, that the decision has been made.
From Fox News:
Former President Donald Trump signaled during an Iowa Town Hall event on Fox News Wednesday night that he has already decided who he will choose to be his running mate in 2024…“Christie for vice president?” MacCallum joked.
“I don’t see it, I don’t see it,” Trump said.
During a town hall event in Iowa, Trump revealed he’s already picked his running mate for 2024. The hosts asked for hints as to whom it could be, but the former president said it was for “another show sometime.”
The hosts asked if Trump had considered one of his Republican rivals. When asked if he’d “mend fences” with any of them, Trump said “Oh, sure. I will.” He joked about Chris Christie’s recent departure from the race saying he “already started” liking him better.
When asked if he’d pick Christie for his VP, Trump flatly refused. Although Christie has dropped out of the race, he’s made it his ambition to oppose a second Trump administration. It is highly unlikely that Trump would pick him to be part of his administration.
Many names have been floating around for possible Trump running mates. If he’s already made the decision, however, it is likely not a current GOP candidate. The Republicans still running against him wouldn’t accept an offer—while they are holding out hope to beat him.
Some have suggested GOP Gov. Kristi Noem and Rep. Nancy Mace, among others. Other names floated include top House Republican Elise Stefanik and, more recently, GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.
Key Takeaways:
- During a town hall event on Fox News, Trump revealed he’s decided on a running mate.
- The former president did not say the name of the person he picked.
- Trump is currently leading in the GOP field by a large margin.
