Facebook Rejects Ad For Trump Boat Parade – Then Thousands Show Up To The Lake To Support

What’s Happening:

Trump supporters in the state of North Carolina planned a boat parade to show support for the president on July 4th. They made a video, hoping to promote the event on Facebook. Yet after making numerous attempts, the social network denied their request:

Organizers of a July 4 Donald Trump boat parade on Lake Norman said they intend to file a federal complaint against Facebook after the social media giant rejected their paid promotional ads for the event.

“Facebook REJECTED our application MULTIPLE TIMES and will not let us promote and advertise our Patriotic Parade,” organizers of the LKN Trump Boat Parade posted on Facebook Sunday.

Yet despite their inability to advertise the event, the word got out:

Organizers are seeking answers as to why the ad was rejected by the social platform. In addition to this, Facebook appeared to put a COVID warning on the event’s page, suggesting the virus might spread during the event (despite attendees being on boats).

Despite possible attempts to suppress the gathering, thousands reportedly gathered. Local news covered the event, highlighting the fact that many in attendance didn’t wear face masks. This, despite the fact that the boats were more than six feet apart.

This is not the first boating event to show support to the president. In May, numerous gatherings across Florida, California, South Carolina, and Arizona featured boaters flying American and MAGA flags.

With lingering restrictions on large gatherings and ongoing criticism from the left, boating events might quickly become the go-to for seafaring Trump supporters.

Key Takeaways:

  • A Trump-supporting boating event in North Carolina’s ads were denied by Facebook.
  • Despite the lack of reach, thousands gathered on Lake Norman to attend the event.
  • Local media appeared to criticize the lack of masks, despite attendings being on separate boats.
