Now that Joe Biden looks to be the Democratic nominee, all eyes are on the General Election.
Polls are coming out, revealing the candidate’s preliminary standings. Six key states have been highlighted in a CNBC/Change Research poll, revealing a pretty tight race.
It appears both Trump and Biden are in a deadlock:
The Republican incumbent and apparent Democratic nominee are virtually tied in the battlegrounds of Arizona, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, according to the States of Play poll of swing states released Wednesday. Trump edges Biden by a 48% to 47% margin across those states, the poll found.
Why it’s important:
According to this poll, Trump is slightly ahead. But his lead is well within the margin for error.
That is after all the heat the mainstream media has tried to put on the president after a month’s long impeachment and virus pandemic.
Considering those odds, it could be significant that he even has a slight lead in a mainstream media poll.
What could this mean for November, once the COVID-19 dust settles? We’ll just have to wait and see.
- A CNBC/Change Research poll has Trump leading Biden by a 1-point lead.
- The poll looked at battleground states that can decide the 2020 Election.
- Trump has a minor lead, after months of intense media pressure.
