Since the start of this situation with China, President Trump has been on the front lines fighting to help Americans.
Despite massive criticism from the left, he’s worked to provide life-saving equipment and aid. And that’s not to mention relief for workers and small businesses.
But now, he’s turning his attention to a very critical area. He’s not going to let China get away with their role in this mess.
From Daily Wire:
President Donald Trump said on Monday during the White House Coronavirus Task Force news conference that the United States is going make China pay a “very substantial” price for the damage they have caused by lying and trying to cover-up the coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan…
“There are a lot of ways you can hold them accountable. We’re doing very serious investigations, as you probably know. We are not happy with China, we are not happy with that whole situation.”
DW says President Trump announced that the U.S. will be making China pay a “very substantial” price for their actions during this situation.
He made it clear the government is conducting an investigation. When asked about how much China might be required to pay, he didn’t mince words.
One reporter referred to a German newspaper that demanded £130 billion from the Chinese government (that’s roughly $140 billion).
President Trump, in turn, said we’d be seeking “a lot more” money than Germany.
He mentioned a way to get China to pay us back that’s “much easier” than sending them a bill. I wouldn’t be surprised if Germany (or other European countries) just sent a letter to China, demanding payment.
Sure, that’ll get the communist regime to pony up the cash!
Perhaps Trump’s plan is much more effective? Recently, Sen. Lindsey Graham discussed putting sanctions on China. That would be a method of getting them to comply that would actually work.
China would have to choose between paying us back what we lost or losing access to America’s economy. (Graham specifically threatened China would be “cut off” from America.)
Something tells me Trump has more than a few options. And he’s not a man who backs down. When he promises something, he gets it done.
China has a lot to answer for. So far, they’ve been unwilling to be totally open with the U.S. and the world.
Will they reverse course and start to cooperate? Will they be willing to aid countries most impacted by this crisis?
If not, Trump will make sure of it.
