Check it, out America: another “Squad” member is on the hot seat.
This time it’s Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), who is now under investigation by The House Ethics Committee.
We’ve heard rumblings about this investigation before, but now it appears the Committee has uncovered some very concerning details.
With such hard evidence, Tlaib might not be able to wriggle out of this one!
The announcement came straight from the Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE), and it’s a hard-hitting reveal:
“Rashida Tlaib for Congress” reported campaign disbursements that may not be legitimate and verifiable campaign expenditures attributable to bona fide campaign or political purposes.
NOT good, Rashida.
As it turns out, the Democrat leader may have paid herself with campaign funds … which is a giant no-no from an ethics standpoint.
What this means is simple– the OCE has reason to believe Tlaib converted her campaign funds “for personal use.”
And one piece of evidence really stands out, as later revealed by Fox News.
Tlaib “frantically” contacted members of her staff for financial help via email and text, and here’s one example:
“I am struggling financially right now.
So I was thinking the campaign could loan me money, but Ryan said that the committee could actually pay me. I was thinking a one time payment of 5k.”
That doesn’t sound right to me, and it certainly doesn’t sound right to the Ethics Committee.
In another email, Tlaib said she wouldn’t make it through the campaign “without a stipend,” and she requested $2,000 every two weeks.
ALL of this seems like Tlaib got money for personal use, doesn’t it?
She talks about it like it’s a loan, but if she got the money, did she pay it back? And doesn’t it count as a major ethics violation if she used any campaign money for personal use?
Sorry, but this evidence is pretty clear and tough to dispute.
There is simply too much-documented proof in this case, and I would conclude that Tlaib might be found guilty.
And I think that’d be the conclusion of many concerned Americans, too. Right?
Would you agree that Tlaib committed a serious violation here, and should be punished for it?
