Conservative actor and comedian Tim Allen came under heavy fire this week, though many are wondering who to believe.
It happened after former “Baywatch” star Pamela Anderson accused Allen of “flashing” her on the set of “Home Improvement.” Anderson made the allegation in a recently published book.
However, Allen claims it absolutely never happened.
Many figured that might be the end of it — but as it turns out, Allen did flash someone on the set of his show. Except it wasn’t Pam Anderson, and it isn’t anywhere near as offensive as you might think.
A clip from a blooper video has since surfaced on TMZ:
That’s costar Patricia Richardson and while it looks like Allen is “flashing” her (as traditionally, nothing is worn under a kilt), she said Allen was “well dressed” under there.
This apparently happened in front of a live studio audience, too, so it wouldn’t make much sense for Allen to literally flash her.
People ask me what was under the kilt when he flashed me, he was well dressed under there, I was just shocked that he lifted the kilt, not by a man in boxer shorts.
In the new book, “Love, Pamela,” the former pinup model claims Allen opened his robe and flashed her back in 1991. She said he did it to level the playing field after she’d posed nude in Playboy.
But Allen rejects the claim, saying simply: “No, it never happened. I would never do such a thing.”
Unsurprisingly, Anderson didn’t back down, saying in a statement to Vanity Fair that it’s a “true story” and while she doesn’t bear a grudge toward Tim, “it should never have happened.”
This will probably always be a case of he-said, she-said and the public will never know who’s really telling the truth.
But it’s likely that most of Allen’s fans will be inclined to believe him, and aren’t ready to believe Anderson — whose reputation might not be the best, and therefore her testimony might not be as reliable.
At any rate, it’ll be interesting to see if this little feud continues.
