Texas Passes ‘Star Spangled Banner’ Act – They Just Put An End To Teams Leaving Out The National Anthem

What’s Happening:

Democrats must be pretty upset with Texas right about now.

It seems like every day the Lone Star State is passing new laws to undermine the left.

They are leading the charge against the Biden administration and its socialist agenda.

And the state’s leadership signaled they are not slowing down one bit.

Now, it looks like the state’s lawmakers have taken yet another chip out of the left’s schemes.

This time, over their much-loved anthem protests.

From IJR:

The Texas House on Tuesday passed a bill that would require any professional sports team with contracts with the Texas state government to play the national anthem prior to the start of a game.

Senate Bill 4, known as the “Star-Spangled Banner Act,” was passed on a voice vote with no changes Monday, according to the Texas Tribune. After Tuesday’s final approval, it now goes to Gov. Greg Abbott to be signed into law.

The state of Texas is about to sign into law a bill that will require professional sports to play the anthem before the start of their games.

Any team that has contracts with the state—to play games in Texas—will have to comply with this rule.

This is a refreshing response to the ongoing “woke” policies of the NBA, NFL, MLB, and more.

Professional sports have caved to entitled, selfish, super-rich athletes who would rather trash our country than respect it.

In no other country could they enjoy what they do here. Yet they have disrespected our country by kneeling during the anthem.

Team owners and league officials have only encouraged this behavior, putting ego-driven athletes ahead of the fans.

Some sports have even debated nixing the anthem altogether, as a gross insult to our country.

It’s no secret fans have been disgusted and outraged at this. Many sports leagues have seen a massive drop in attendance and ratings as a result.

Even during 2020, when fans had nothing else to do but watch games at home, ratings were in the toilet.

We can’t say if this new law will bring fans back. But it is the right response from a patriotic legislature.

Perhaps more states will follow Texas’s lead?

Key Takeaways:

  • Texas is about to sign into law a bill that requires sports games to play the National Anthem.
  • This comes after years of protests and attacks by professional sports players.
  • Fans have rejected major league teams over their “woke” politics.
