Texas is on the verge of passing another bill in favor of election integrity.
The Lone Star State already has strict voter rules in place. Like many other states, it requires voter ID.
But this new bill would plug up holes many believe could be used to cheat.
Democrats, for some strange reason, didn’t like the idea of Texas securing its elections. They even stormed out of the session, denying the quorum needed and stopping the vote.
So, the governor announced that he would penalize anyone who refused to do their job.
From Fox News:
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said Monday that he would veto the portion of the state budget that funds the legislative branch, one day after Democratic lawmakers blocked a Republican-backed election bill in the House.
In a tweet announcing the move, Abbott indicated that his decision was a response to lawmakers who “abandon their responsibilities.”
Gov. Abbott revealed he would veto a portion of the state budget that funds the legislative branch, over Democrats’ refusal to work.
Democratic state lawmakers walked out of the chambers, simply to prevent a quorum vote ahead of the final vote on the new voter integrity bill.
Keep in mind, Democrats don’t have the votes to actually block this bill from passing. So, like spoiled brats, they stormed out of the building to disrupt the work of democracy.
Is that all Democrats are capable of, these days? They can’t get their way, so they throw a temper tantrum?
Abbott is going to punish them, not for disagreeing with the bill, but for being unwilling to simply do their jobs.
Everyone in Texas who voted for these Democrats needs to take a hard look at them. Is this why you supported them—so they can stage a stunt that disrupts the government?
Just because Democrats can’t get their way doesn’t mean they get to shut down our society.
Yet we see them do that all the time. BLM and Antifa–Democrat-backed groups–try to literally shut down society by spreading unrest in the streets.
Democrats in D.C. frequently walked out of talks with Donald Trump and Republican leaders.
It seems like Democrats don’t really like doing their jobs–just causing a scene.
But at least in Texas, they’ll pay for that.
- Gov. Abbott threatened to veto the state legislature’s budget over Democrat antics.
- Democratic lawmakers walked out of a meeting to block a vote.
- Democrats are panicking as Texas passes more voter integrity bills.
