You might wonder to yourself, do Democrats ever own up to their actions?
Believe it or not, yes. But only once in a while. And not for long.
Republican Sen. Tim Scott wowed the country with his powerful response to Biden’s congressional address. During his remarks, Scott defied the left by saying America is not racist.
How did some Democrats respond? Well, a leader of the Democratic Party in Texas actually used a racial slur against the senator.
After some expected backlash, he admitted he was wrong and even took responsibility for it and resigned. But his party, unconcerned with how he treated a black leader, stunned the nation with a very different response.
From Daily Wire:
On Tuesday, after Gary O’Connor, the chair of the Lamar County Democratic Party in Texas, had offered his resignation in the wake of blowback for calling Senator Tim Scott an “oreo” on Facebook, the Lamar County Democratic Party declared it would not accept his resignation.
Gary O’Connor apologized for calling Sen. Tim Scott, a black Republican, an “oreo” and resigned from his post.
But the Lamar County Democratic Party, after spewing some non-sense liberal talking points, decided they would not let him resign.
The party praised themselves for their “historic efforts to work for justice” and how they support “pro-reconciling attitudes and language.” You’re kidding me, right?
These people don’t even talk like real people.
If these Democrats are so proud of their work to end bigotry and racism, why are they giving this guy a pass?
Imagine if a Republican called a black Democrat such a thing? We wouldn’t hear the end of it. Democrats would be pounding their desks, screaming at the hosts of CNN shows, calling for that Republican’s head.
Even Republicans would call out such a thing, demanding that person’s resignation.
Yet it seems that Democrats care more about patting themselves on the back, than actually taking action against real bigotry.
In cases like these, they seem more than happy to turn a blind eye to terrible words or actions—as long as that person is a liberal.
This party essentially just said, “It’s okay that O’Connor insulted a black American. Because he’s one of us.”
At least it’s good to know where they stand.
Do you think O’Connor should have resigned?
- A Democratic party chairman insulted black Republican Sen. Tim Scott.
- He apologized, announcing he was stepping down from his post.
- But the Lamar County Democratic Party refused his resignation while praising themselves.
