Perry, a former Army sergeant who was driving Uber at the time, encountered an armed BLM group that had taken over the streets of Austin, Texas during a riot on July 25, 2020.
This is disgusting. Perry was working as an Uber driver in Austin when leftist rioters took over the streets in July of 2020. Hmm… where were all the police? Oh, that’s right, the progressive Democrats who run Austin defunded all of them!
One of the rioters that surrounded Perry’s car pointed an AK-47 at his face. Oh, I thought it was only conservative “gun nuts” who own rifles!? Perry, fearing for his life, shot the man in what was clearly self-defense. Other rioters then shot at his car as he drove away.
Are we surprised Perry was strung up as a monster and convicted by an Austin jury? The man served his country and was just trying to make a living when he was confronted by these maniacs. This news has not sat well with the governor. So, Abbott made a bold announcement.

According to Gov. Abbott, he needs to receive a recommendation from the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles before he can pardon Perry. He is urging the board to speed up its review, so he can pardon this man as quickly as possible.
Imagine how corrupt the left has become. Someone can defend himself against a man waving an AK-47 in his face, and end up going to jail. Imagine if it was a conservative carrying that rifle and a BLM activist killed him? Do you think anyone would convict that instance of self-defense? They wouldn’t even have arrested the guy.
Hopefully, the governor can make this happen ASAP.
