As Joe Biden takes office, many Republicans and Conservatives are already on the lookout. Many believe Democrats like Biden can be a threat to the basic freedoms of America.
In fact, most right-wing politicos have railed against Democrats throwing their weight around for years. And a flurry of executive orders on Day 1 hasn’t changed that Republican outlook.
But one Attorney General won’t stand idly by if Biden “oversteps.”
It’s Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who has been a long-time ally of Conservatives in Washington and a staunch advocate of the Constitution.
Now he says that if the Biden administration flexes too much muscle, Texas is going to act.
Paxton promised the country that he will remain vigilant, and will “challenge federal overreach” on the part of Biden’s team (via Fox News).
As he wrote on inauguration day:
I promise to my fellow Texans and Americans that I will fight against the many unconstitutional and illegal actions that the new administration will take, challenge federal overreach that infringes on Texans’ rights, and serve as a major check against the administration’s lawlessness.
Texas First! Law & Order always!

Paxton’s words came mere hours before Biden signed 17 executive orders on his first day. Therefore, the AG’s warning might seem timely and absolutely warranted.
Republicans like Paxton continue to worry that Biden’s administration will infringe on certain inalienable rights, and it’s doubly concerning because Democrats have control of the House and Senate.
Paxton didn’t specifically mention any of Biden’s orders; it was more of a general warning for the future.
Another important note is that the Texas Attorney General was a proud supporter of former President Trump. He even sided with POTUS on fighting the election results.
He made national headlines when he sued several battleground states, including Pennsylvania and Michigan, in an effort to help Trump reclaim the election.
However, the Supreme Court declined to hear the case, which was a devastating blow to Trump’s chances.
Even so, Paxton and his fellow Conservatives still stand up for what they believe.
And in this case, Paxton believes “federal overreach” could be very possible. He’s merely saying he’s watching Biden, and will continue to watch.
- Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has sent the Biden administration a warning.
- Paxton says his state will “challenge federal overreach” when and if they see it.
- Republicans and Conservatives are worried that because Democrats control the presidency, House, and Senate, they’ll now force their power.
