Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is running for president as a Democrat. But, from all appearances, the Democratic Party is unwilling to acknowledge his campaign. He has been rising in various primary polls. And he continues to raise millions of dollars among American supporters. But leading politicians within the party have dismissed his efforts; they refuse to let him debate Joe Biden.

Sen. Cruz criticized the Biden campaign for denying Robert F. Kennedy Jr. a Secret Service detail. According to law, every presidential candidate is given protection 100 days before the election, as long as they are polling at a certain level. But some candidates, including Barack Obama, were given Secret Service protection years before Election Day.
Kennedy himself has explained that the agency itself assumed it would be able to provide security for him and his family. But just days before they were going to authorize it, the White House denied Kennedy’s request.
Cruz believes Joe is doing this himself. He does not want to give Kennedy protection, because it would “legitimize” his campaign.
Evidence suggests Kennedy is in dire need of protection. His father and uncle were tragically assassinated in the 1960s. Kennedy and his family have been the subject of death threats. A man even appeared at a recent campaign event with a loaded gun.
Despite all this, the Biden White House will not allow Secret Service protection. Kennedy has stated he believes Biden is doing this, to force Kennedy to pay for security himself. That would drain campaign resources from other needs.
Cruz believes Biden won’t do it, because it would be admitting that Kennedy is a “major candidate.” Kennedy continues to gain supporters. Many Americans want him to debate Joe. But the White House and Democrat establishment seem to pretend as if Kennedy does not exist. That might not go well for them, come election time.
