Swing Senator Announces Kavanaugh Vote, Throws Washington Swamp Into Chaos

The bitter fight to appoint Judge Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court is finally over.

Four moderate senators were key to the decision, as the rest of the Senate fell on party lines.

Senator Lisa Murkowski stunned Republicans by voting no in Friday’s cloture vote, but cloture still passed 51-49 when Democrat Joe Manchin votes yes along with Republicans Jeff Flake and Susan Collins.

But those final three still made it unclear whether they would vote for Kavanaugh in the final confirmation vote. Flake then indicated he would vote yes, and it was likely Manchin would not be the deciding vote himself and only vote yes if Kavanaugh would win without him.

Senator Susan Collins announced she would be sharing her verdict Friday afternoon, and that she did, and Washington is now in turmoil.

From Gateway Pundit:

Senator Susan Collins took to the Senate floor on Friday to announce her position on Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

Senator Collins the proceeded and gave a lengthy dissertation on how she came to her decision to support or not support Judge Kavanaugh.

And just in, Democrat Joe Manchin will be voting for Kavanaugh, which will keep Mike Pence from having to break a tie if the Republican attending his daughter’s wedding cannot make it.

This comes as an unbelievable relief to Republicans, to President Trump, and to a national that was thrown into chaos.

For Democrats, however, their dirty tactics have failed them. Worse than that, they have lost ground in the coming midterm elections.

Democrats were not expecting the Brett Kavanaugh wave to come crashing down on them.

Nothing is finalized quite yet, as the vote will be held Saturday, but barring any extraordinary circumstances, Judge Kavanaugh will be an Associate Supreme Court Justice shortly.
