In Historic 9-0 Supreme Court Decision – The Justices Rule Against Biden Administration On Green Cards

What’s Happening:

We’ve been covering many recent Supreme Court rulings that have had major impacts on our country.

But it looks like they’re not done yet.

The Biden administration is making all sorts of attempts to undermine our immigration system.

We know all about how they’ve weakened our border. On top of that, Biden is trying to make it easier for people who came here unlawfully to stick around permanently.

One case was taken all the way to the Supreme Court. And, in a 9-0 decision, they foiled Biden’s scheme.

From Roll Call:

In a unanimous decision, the justices found a grant of Temporary Protected Status, which provides work permits and deportation relief to immigrants from certain countries in crisis, does not constitute a legal admission to the United States — a requirement for some to become permanent residents.

Individuals who cross the border illegally but are granted protections for victims of crimes, for example, are allowed to later become permanent residents. However, the same is not true for the roughly 400,000 recipients of TPS living in the U.S., the high court held.

What the Supreme Court decided in this ruling will affect not only 400,000 non-citizens, but millions who want to come here.

They ruled that just because someone is under Temporary Protected Status does not mean they get a Green Card—and permanent residency.

We all know that Democrats try to find whatever loopholes they can to reward folks who come here illegally.

It seems they’d rather have people who break our immigration rules, instead of hard-working folks who will respect our laws.

But the court decided that “lawful status” and simple “admission” were not the same thing. They ruled that granting TPS does not automatically mean someone can stay here forever.

This means that many who came here without permission, but were allowed to stay temporarily, will have a harder time getting Green Cards or other perks.

It also takes the wind out of the sails of many people who are trying to edge in, claiming asylum or other excuses.

This ruling eliminates the chance they can become citizens, simply because they were allowed in.

It is also worth noting that the entire Supreme Court, both conservative and liberal justices, ruled the same. Apparently, they all agree that Biden and other Democrats can’t bend the law to give just anyone citizenship.

I guess Biden will have to find another way of getting around the system.

Key Takeaways:

  • The Supreme Court ruled 9-0 that TPS immigrants are not guaranteed citizenship.
  • The decision will make it harder for those who came illegally to gain permanent residency.
  • This comes as the Biden administration seeks to undermine existing immigration law.
