The Supreme Court is wrapping up its current session, releasing numerous long-awaited rulings. And they may have just released their biggest case of the year.
You heard that right. Dobbs, which struck down Roe and Casey, was a political earthquake. But the latest case could have an even bigger impact on the government.
We’ve seen the court rule in favor of pro-life, religious liberty, and the Second Amendment. Now, it is ruling in favor of American industry and against big government bureaucrats—in spite of Biden’s America-last green agenda.
From Los Angeles Times:
The Supreme Court ruled Thursday for the major coal-producing states and sharply limited the Biden administration’s authority to restrict the carbon pollution that is causing global warming.
The justices agreed with lawyers for West Virginia and said Congress did not give environmental regulators broad authority to reshape the system for producing electric power by switching from coal to natural gas, wind turbines and solar energy.
The court split 6-3 in the case of West Virginia vs. EPA.
The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 that Biden’s EPA could not overstep Congress in rewriting environmental regulation.
The federal agency was trying to force states, including states like West Virginia that relied on fossil fuels, to switch to less-reliable “green” energy sources.
The EPA tried to set carbon dioxide emissions caps, which would have shut down fossil fuels in many states.
It would have turned every state into California, which continues to struggle with energy blackouts during the Summer.
The court ruled that only Congress can pass laws that set these kinds of limits, protecting the separation of powers.
Since Obama, Democrats in the White House have tried to get around Congress to force their agenda. Biden, like Barry, has tried to exploit executive orders, telling agencieslike the EPA, which are in the “4th branch of government,” the unelected administrative state, to do what only Congress can do.
This ruling sets serious limits on how Biden and his agencies can regulate businesses. It is a big win for states and industries that are just trying to provide energy for Americans.
Thanks to Biden’s strict regulation, America is suffering an energy crisis. Because of the low supply of oil, energy prices are skyrocketing.
Biden wanted to make that even worse with this EPA regulation. Which begs the question, is Biden trying to make our lives miserable?
- The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 against Biden’s EPA.
- The court banned the agency from forcing emissions caps.
- The highest court ruled that only Congress can pass laws setting those standards.
