Could it be that rational reasoning is taking hold in wildly liberal congressional districts? For years hyper leftist congressional representatives have enjoyed a slathering of support from their fawning constituencies while the media heaped praise upon them for their progressive ideology.
Too much of a failed ideology appears to be correcting itself within the ranks of the highly controversial leftist pact that dominated headlines for years. “The Squad” has apparently sided against a strong base of constituents who want two of its members gone.
What may be a delicious moment of irony for conservatives is that the opposition to The Squad members comes from their side of the political spectrum. They face getting dumped from Congress by fellow Democrats.
From Fox News:
A pro-Israel Democrat group is looking to oust two controversial far-left “Squad” members from their seats in Congress this cycle. The Democratic Majority for Israel PAC on Wednesday endorsed George Latimer, the Westchester County executive who is challenging Rep. Jamaal Bowman of New York, and Wesley Bell, the progressive prosecuting attorney for St. Louis County who is running against Rep. Cori Bush of Missouri, in their upcoming primaries this summer.
The efforts to oust Bowman and Bush come after the representatives made a string of controversial comments and actions with regard to Israel, which has drawn the ire of such groups.
The Jewish Democratic Council of America also endorsed Bowman and Bush’s opponents last week. This was the first time the council supported challengers to House Democrats, according to the New York Post.
Both Bush and Bowman have openly criticized Israel. The anti-Israel sentiment hit a boiling point following the surprise bloody raid into Israel on Oct. 7 by the Hamas terrorist group.
Bush appeared to ignore the slaughter of more than 1,000 innocent Israelis while accusing Israel of retaliating against Palestinians in Gaza by targeting hospitals and committing war crimes.
The outspoken leftist member of “The Squad” highlighted people killed in Israel’s response to the terrorist attack. He said Israel was targeting millions of people in Gaza “with nowhere to go being slaughtered.” He called on the U.S. to “stop funding these atrocities.” He is also known for defending fellow “The Squad” member Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) who was censured for her anti-Israel rhetoric.
Bowman also has a history of anti-Israel rhetoric that includes him claiming that reports of Israeli women being raped by Hamas terrorists were “propaganda.” His comments came just days after he viewed video footage of the Hamas attack. After being proved wrong, he tried to walk back his comments, but his response was disingenuous.
Bowman has also fought to keep a mural of Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan in New York even though the controversial figure has called Jews “the synagogue of Satan” and “termites.”
Key Takeaways:
- Two members of “The Squad” face election challengers from within their own party.
- Representatives Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman are targeted for their anti-Israel rhetoric.
- A pro-Israel Democrat wants to send them both packing which would deplete “The Squad.”
