Speaker Johnson Gives Blue City 1 Direct Order – Do This, Or Funding Will Disappear

What’s Happening:

The new House Speaker has quickly gone to work, pushing Republican values through Congress. He has helped pass resolutions that take money from the IRS, Kamala Harris, and other Biden officials.

He is fighting to get spending deals passed that cut reckless spending and preserve American values.

Just recently, he announced a plan to provide aid to cities overwhelmed by a major crisis. But if this one mayor refuses this direct order, it will all go away.

From Fox News:
House Speaker Mike Johnson on Thursday told New York City that if it wanted federal money to help house migrants amid the ongoing crisis there, it would have to axe its sanctuary city status…

“The idea that you would maintain a sanctuary city status and then cry out to the federal government for assistance in what you’ve done is, to me, unconscionable,” Johnson told the Post. “I’m certain that will be one of our proposals, and it should.”

Speaker Johnson sent a message to New York Mayor Eric Adams. If the city wants funding to deal with its migrant problem, it will have to end its sanctuary policies.

Mayor Adams has been vocal about the crisis facing his city. Tens of thousands of border crossers have been bused into NYC. The city has no room to deal with this massive influx of aliens. Adams warned that this crisis would “destroy” the city.

But the city maintains a policy to protect criminal aliens, refusing to hand them over to ICE for deportation.

Johnson said it was “unconscionable” for cities like New York to demand federal funding to deal with migrants while maintaining policies that reward illegal immigration. Many blue cities have been overrun by migrants.

Yet they refuse to change policies that would actually help. New York, Chicago, and other cities have requested billions in funding to address the migrant crisis. Residents, on the other hand, have been demanding migrants to be removed.

Democrat leaders appear to be ignoring residents’ protests and complaints. In New York, they have even arrested Americans who have demanded the removal of these migrants. Other residents have expressed outrage that migrant tent cities are being erected in parks, by schools, and near other public spaces.

Key Takeaways:

  • Speaker Johnson ordered New York to end its sanctuary policies.
  • The Republican warned funding for migrants was on the line.
  • Johnson called New York’s policies “unconscionable” in light of the ongoing crisis.
