Most Republicans have spoken out against the left’s second, bogus impeachment of Donald Trump.
Most, but not all.
We know that ten Republicans in the House turned on the party and Trump to vote for impeachment. Previously, five Republican senators voted not to dismiss the trial, despite its shaky constitutional status.
On the first day of the trial, Trump’s lawyers also tried to dismiss what many believe is a sham trial.
And six Republican senators are now turning on the party.
From Daily Wire:
In a 56 – 44 vote on the Senate floor Tuesday afternoon, the Senate upheld the constitutionality of impeaching a former president…
Six Republican senators voted with the Democrats, including Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Mitt Romney of Utah, Ben Sasse of Nebraska and Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania.
Bill Cassidy of Louisiana joined the usual swamp RINOs to vote in favor of this ridiculous trial.
Many legal experts have explained the Constitution does not allow for Congress to impeach a private citizen. On top of that, many have pointed out the left’s one charge of “incitement” is not a crime that can easily be proven.
(Many Republicans have also revealed that, by the same standard, many Democrats could face impeachment.)
Despite all this, these six Republicans think it’s okay to continue on with this waste of time and tax dollars.
The best Democrats can hope for is a conviction that might bar Trump from running again (although even that might be questionable). Trump is out of office, a private citizen, and still loved by 75,000,000 Americans.
This entire charade is just evidence of the Democrats’ unwillingness to move on, even after they “won” the election.
The real question is, what will come of these “conservatives” that turned on Trump and the party? Democrats always stick together, even when their members break the law or embarrass the country.
Republicans seem to love the swamp so much, they’ll abandon their own leaders and convictions.
Perhaps these six senators will wake up and smell the coffee, when they face tough primaries soon?
- Six Republican senators voted to continue the sham impeachment trial.
- Joining the five original RINOs was Bill Cassidy of Louisiana.
- Many legal experts have explained this trial is not supported by the Constitution.
