When you run a non-profit, you’re supposed to be doing it for a positive impact on the world, not to make money, right?
Apparently Rev. Al Sharpton apparently didn’t get the memo.
He seems to think that just because he runs a non-profit group, he should get all the “benefits” that come with one.
Sharpton is President and CEO of the National Action Network (NAN), and he’s making a pretty penny off of it.
In fact, the total sum is out of this world, even if it wasn’t a non-profit!
From Breitbart (via the New York Post):
Rev. Al Sharpton received more than $1 million from the National Action Network (NAN) in 2018, tax filings reportedly show.
Sharpton was paid $1,046,948 by the non-profit, and he also got ‘a $324,000 salary — 32% higher than his 2017 pay — in addition to a $159,596 bonus and $563,352 in ‘other compensation.’
Over a million bucks?! And we don’t even know where more than half of it came from!
The reverend is on record saying he deserved that immense raise in 2018, and the NAN reported increased donations in recent years.
But it’s tough to defend his giant salary and unexplained bonus, especially when we’re talking about such big numbers.
And get this: Sharpton still owes $698,470.99 in back taxes to the state of New York for three of his companies!
So he got over $1 million in 2018 from his non-profit, thanks to an insane salary, a 32 percent raise, and over $560K in “other compensation.”
AND he owes nearly 700K to the IRS for taxes he has decided not to pay.
How is Al getting away with this?
The bottom line is, it seems we have another major Democrat leader who pretends to be all about morality and giving … but in the end, we see it’s all about power and money.
And you know, I’m not surprised in the least.
