Chuck Schumer is eagerly hoping that the Senate will break for him. If Georgia falls to Democrats in January, then they have a majority in the upper chamber of Congress.
It appears they are pouring millions into these runoff races, hoping the traditionally conservative state will oust their current senators for two, radical, left-wing Democrats.
But his dreams might not come to fruition as much as he hoped. Because one of his own party has something to say:
Democratic Senator Joe Manchin (WV) triggered the Left on Monday afternoon — to the point where many called for “abolishing the Senate” altogether — after he pledged during a Fox News interview to be a key vote in stopping proposed power grabs by his own party…
“if both Dan Sullivan and Thom Tillis win; 50/50 means there’s a tie. But if one senator does not vote on the Democratic side, there is no tie and there is no bill.”
Joe Manchin, a Democrat from a deeply-red state, vowed to the public that he would not vote for a radical agenda.
Should both Senate seats from Georgia go for Democrats, that’s a 50/50 tie in the Senate. But he promised his vote would not go to ending the filibuster, packing the courts, or embracing any of the radical agenda the left has been promising.
Manchin has good reason to say that. He comes from a very conservative state that went for Trump in both elections. If he wants to keep his job, he has to acknowledge that his people don’t want a radical agenda.
It also seems that he believes enough in our traditions and values that he will not allow Democrats to ram this agenda down our throats.
Leftists, as you can imagine, were livid. Their responses were what you’d expect. From @GoldyHA:
Actually, filibuster or no, there’s no reason to have a Senate. It is an artifact of a slaver constitution that in both intent and practice preserves white minority rule.
And from the former Republican Jennifer Rubin who now writes for the Washington Post, she simply said about no reason to have the Senate:
sounds good about now
Some wanted to abolish the Senate. Because that’s all leftists want to do with things they don’t like these days: abolish them.
Others claimed Senate is “an artifact” of slavery. Of course, they went with race.
It seems like whenever things don’t go as planned for leftists, they want to change the rules. Makes you wonder what’s going on in blue states, doesn’t it?
- Chuck Schumer vowed a radical agenda if Democrats won the Senate.
- Joe Manchin from West Virginia promised to not vote for any radical changes.
- Viewers responded with calls to abolish the Senate.
