Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats really wanted to run roughshod over Republicans—and the Constitution.
But his dreams were foiled after key moderate refused to get rid of the filibuster.
Aw, too back Chuck, you can’t ram your agenda through the Senate. Or can he?
While his dreams of ruining the Supreme Court are dashed, it looks like he’s called an audible.
From NY Post:
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said Democrats are considering expanding the number of judges in district and circuit courts to offset former President Donald Trump’s appointment of more than 200 judges to the federal bench during his four years in office.
While Chuck Schumer lost his chance of running the Senate like a dictator, word is he is hoping to pack lower courts to get his way.
Democrats had, for years, used liberal judges to get their way. If the people refused to back their radical agenda, they’d get the courts to do it.
That was largely derailed when Trump reshaped federal courts over the last four years.
Trump appointed hundreds of new judges into vacancies in the lower courts. Many of these courts decide landmark cases that never reach the Supreme Court.
But it seems Schumer wants to circumvent Trump’s successes, by just adding as many liberal judges to these courts as possible.
Some of these courts already have an absurd number of judges as it is, in some cases 30 or more.
How many judges will make Schumer happy? Fifty? One hundred? A thousand?
As many as he can cram onto the benches, so that the Constitution will never be followed, it seems.
But this plan will only work if Republicans roll over and refuse to fight.
Do you want Republicans in the Senate to stand up to Schumer and his court-packing scheme?
- Chuck Schumer reportedly wants to pack lower federal courts.
- Trump appointed over 200 judges, reshaping the federal court system.
- Democrats have relied on the courts for decades to push their agenda.
