Former MLB All-Star Steve Garvey (R) brazenly accused Schiff of lying to America after Schiff used the platform to attack former President Donald Trump.

“I think you’ve been censured for lying,” Garvey stated bluntly to Schiff. “Sir, you lied to 300 million people and you can’t take that back.”

Garvey was rebutting Schiff’s attacks against Trump. A U.S. House resolution in June, 2023, censured Schiff for “the allegation that President Donald Trump colluded with Russia to interfere in the 2016 Presidential election has been revealed as false by numerous in-depth investigations.”

The resolution also stated that Schiff hindered the ability of the Intelligence Committee to uphold its responsibilities to protect national security. Schiff is the former chair of the House Intelligence Committee.

Schiff’s questionable antics were further highlighted by the resolution. It stated that he “behaved dishonestly and dishonorably” on many occasions. His behavior, the resolution stated, included “publicly, falsely denying” that his staff communicated with a whistleblower to launch the first impeachment of President Trump.

Trump has derided Schiff for years, and the California debate showed how the former president still affects political opponents from a distance. Schiff got called out for lying and had to deflect attention from his own actions by attacking Trump.
