Since about the start of 2021, many southern states and their leaders have begged the Biden administration for help securing the border.

But they claim the President’s team has done very little to fix the spiraling border crisis. And now he plans to lift Title 42, which experts say will result in a massive surge.

At this point, 26 GOP governors are tired of waiting — so they’re executing their own plan.

The White House intends to end Title 42 in May: this was a Trump-era policy that allowed Border Patrol to reject migrants in order to contain the spread of COVID-19.

But the CDC released a statement saying that this is no longer necessary, which means the border will once again be completely open.

“Completely open” could be an unfortunately accurate term, given the sheer number of illegal foreign travelers flooding into the country.

Border authorities are prepping for a whopping 18,000 crossings every day — which translates to over 540K each month.

A group of 26 Republican governors launched the American Governors’ Border Strike Force on Tuesday, a nationwide partnership to secure the border in response to the federal government’s failures.

This Strike Force was announced by Arizona Governor Doug Ducey and Texas Governor Greg Abbott, both of whom have been bullish on increased border security.

And as Gov. Ducey said in a statement, what they’re doing in Arizona is “working.”

However, the border situation clearly affects more than just residents in Arizona, which is why these Governors are working to set things right.

As Ducey stated:

If our entire southern border isn’t secure, our nation isn’t secure.

As dangerous transnational criminal organizations continue to profit from holes in the border and fill our communities with drugs, it’s no coincidence that we’re seeing historic levels of opioid-related deaths.

The American Governors’ Border Strike Force will serve as a force multiplier in the fight against criminal activity directly tied to our border. My thanks to my fellow governors who saw the problem and chose to be part of the solution.

Joining Ducey and Abbott in this cause are leaders from states such as Alaska, Florida, Idaho, Iowa, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Utah and Wyoming.

They’re tired of the Biden administration apparently just ignoring the issue, and they demand a secure, safe border.

Millions of Americans likely agree with them, and many remain concerned that the border will simply break under all the pressure.

In fact, several border officials have warned that this absolutely could happen if things get worse.
