If you turn on President Trump, things are not going to go peachy for you. That’s especially true if you’re supposed to be supporting the man.
Just a few weeks ago, Republican Rep. Justin Amash shocked conservatives when he went on a tweet rant, calling for Trump’s impeachment.
This little-known congressman did it just for the headlines. Republicans refused to stand for this kind of betrayal.
And now, his own party is getting back at Amash by removing him from a major caucus.
Rep. Justin Amash on Monday stepped down from the conservative House Freedom Caucus less than a month after becoming the first Republican member of Congress to say President Donald Trump has committed impeachable offenses.
Aw, boo-hoo! Poor old Amash “stepped down” from the House Freedom Caucus. This is one of the most important and influential caucuses in the country.
Don’t be fooled for a second. Amash did not willingly step down from this caucus. He was kicked out.
I’m sure Jim Jordan, leader of the Freedom Caucus, let Amash say he stepped down, just to save face.
But the fact remains this pathetic excuse for a Republican attacked the president over the Russian collusion hoax.
He claimed the Mueller report proved Trump should be impeached. Even though that very report cleared the president’s name.
Amash, a nobody that no one had heard of, just wanted attention. Yet very quickly he learned it was a terrible move.
His own constituents in Michigan were outraged. That slammed the man in a town hall after he called for Trump’s impeachment.
After all, Trump has worked tirelessly to help Americans. Often with little help from Congress. In the last two and a half years, what has Amash done?
Oh, right, nothing.
SHARE if you think Republicans should kick him out of the party too!
