One of the things that frustrates Americans the most is the waste and abuse of our government. Especially when they’re wasting our money.
The “stimulus” checks that the government handed out to help during the pandemic was a prime example. Sure, plenty of people got some money they could use.
But did you know millions of dollars of that money when to dead people? What do they need money for? Not like they have a lot of bills to pay.
That money did go to someone, though. And Rand Paul isn’t happy about it. He fought to fix it in future packages. But Congress watered it down so it’s as good as useless.
Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) is raging against changes made to a bill he introduced this summer to prevent Covid-19 stimulus checks being sent in error to deceased citizens, as well as to non-citizens beyond US borders…
Here’s his tweet:
Recently, I passed a bill in the Senate to stop sending stimulus checks to dead people, immediately.
Now I’m told bill is being watered down to stop paying dead people, but only in THREE years.
This is exactly why 90 % of people (including me) disapprove of Congress.
Rand Paul introduced a bill that would prevent Congress from sending checks to dead people. But, for some reason, it was watered down so that it will happen in three years.
So basically, for the next three years, the government might send out millions in tax dollars to dead people. Of course, that means the money will go to someone else. Someone that shouldn’t be getting it.
Paul slammed Congress, saying that 90% of people disapprove of it. Even Paul said that included him.
Can we blame him? The one time a senator tries to do right by the taxpayer, instead of turning a blind eye to obvious waste and possible abuse.
And Congress ruins it.
Why the three-year delay? Do members of Congress want checks going to the wrong people? Do they think that whoever is taking this money deserves it (unlike the rest of us who won’t rob dead people)?
This should be a no-brainer. Don’t give money to the dead. Yet Congress can’t even get that right.
Forget about draining the swamp. Why don’t we just cover up it with cement and call it a day?
Do you disapprove of Congress like 90% of Americans?
- Rand Paul introduced a bill to stop payments to dead people.
- Congress pushed back the rule for three years.
- Paul slammed Congress, citing a 90% disapproval rating.
