At the height of the Summer riots, activists tore down dozens—perhaps hundreds—of government-owned statues.
Most of the vandals got away with it, as police were pressured not to act, especially in blue states.
You might be wondering who is going to foot the bill to repair all these monuments. We, the taxpayers?
Well, the president has decided to help in a big way:
President Donald Trump is donating $100,000 of his salary to help repair monuments damaged during protests and riots since late May…
Trump, a Republican, announced Friday he would pay a quarter of his annual salary to the National Park Service, to be used for restorations.
Wow – President Trump is really donating his $100,000 quarterly salary to the National Park Service, to be used to repair damaged monuments.
Since entering office, Trump has donated his salary to various agencies. He promised the American public he would never take a dime as president.
He has yet to fail on his word.
This money will go toward repairing statues, landmarks, and other historical monuments damaged during the BLM/Antifa-fueled riots.
Numerous statues of historical figures were torn down or vandalized. At first, the activists claimed to be attacking figures who supported slavery.
That included Christopher Columbus and Confederate, Civil War leaders.
But quickly, they appeared to be targeting anyone that played a pivotal role in our society, including George Washington and Winston Churchill (our British ally who fought the Nazis).
Some vandalized even spray-painted the Lincoln Memorial, which honors the president that literally ended slavery in America.
A group of anarchists tried to tear down the famous statue of President Andrew Jackson outside the White House, but failed spectacularly.
From the very start of these actions, President Trump has condemned them. He promised to use federal law enforcement to end the destruction of historical monuments.
He even promised 10 years of jail time for anyone arrested destroying federal property.
Now, he is donating his own salary to ensure many of these statues can be repaired.
