Pence Pulls Back Curtain On Andrew Cuomo, Spins The Blame Back On Governor For NY Outbreak

What’s Happening:

Out of all of the states that suffered from the virus, New York has suffered the most.

Despite sending massive aid to NY, their governor recently slammed Trump and his leadership.

Vice President Mike Pence is not going to tolerate such wild accusations.

In a recent interview he fired back at Cuomo, hitting hard:

“Our hearts grieve for the fact that one in five of all the American lives that have been lost in the coronavirus pandemic were lost in the State of New York,” Pence told host Laura Ingraham, “and some of that was because of poor decisions by the state and by Governor Cuomo.”

Mike Pence pointed out that one in five Americans lost from COVID were from New York.

He called out the “poor decisions” made by the state and Gov. Cuomo himself.

It’s true that early on, the state refused to listen to the federal government. Even as COVID spread, there were New York health officials encouraging residents to go about their normal business.

Only after it was too late, did Cuomo and other leaders take drastic measures to lock down the state.

But the poor decision-making didn’t stop there. Cuomo made a controversial order that forced nursing homes to take in patients infected with the virus.

Even though it was known by then that the elderly are at the greatest risk, he put sick patients in with healthy citizens.

That alone could account for NY’s staggering rate.

During the outbreak, President Trump sent considerable aid to the state. Mobile hospitals were set up across NYC. A naval hospital ship was docked at port.

Ventilators and PPE were shipped in large amounts to ensure they never ran out.

At the time, Gov. Cuomo praised Trump for his support and aid. But now, he is calling for a “reset,” blaming Trump for everything.

It seems that when New York was really facing a crisis, Cuomo was all too eager to receive Trump’s aid. Odd that now he is proclaiming doom-and-gloom, just months before the election.

Perhaps his latest statements have little to do with the virus. Perhaps things are getting so calm and back to normal in NY, Cuomo now has the luxury to take political potshots?

So America, who is to blame for the tragedy in New York?

Key Takeaways:

  • Gov Cuomo recently attacked Trump over his COVID leadership.
  • Vice President Pence responded by reminding the governor that his leadership led to NY’s many deaths.
  • Cuomo praised Trump for his aid during the worst of the pandemic, only to flip the script today.
