Through all the ups and downs of the Trump administration, there was one man the president could count on: Mike Pence.
Even during the dark days of the pandemic, Mike Pence provided leadership and support to the administration.
All that was challenged on January 6, when he ignored calls from Trump and state leaders to send the election results back to state legislatures.
Now, with Trump out of office, Pence is no longer his “right-hand-man.” Will he support Donald’s future campaigns?
That might not be the direction he is headed.
From Yahoo News:
Former Vice President Mike Pence is said to be making plans to form a political committee, signaling his intention to remain a relevant political player after serving in the Trump administration…
The political committee would be a 501(c)4 organization that is allowed to participate in politics through purchasing ads, for example…
By starting a 501(c)4, Pence would be able to maintain significant relationships with GOP donors that might prove beneficial for future campaign-related ventures, NBC News reported.
Word is spreading that former Vice President Mike Pence is preparing to launch his own political committee.
These kinds of committees typically allow a politician to continue in politics after leaving office. They can promote issues and endorse candidates. They also will allow Pence to keep relationships with donors—which has sparked speculation.
What does Pence intend to do with this new committee? He might just want to support future GOP candidates—such as those who will fight to retake Congress in 2022.
Like Trump’s “Office of the Former President,” Pence’s committee could continue to promote America first policies across the country.
But forming his own group has given rise to the question: will Pence run against Trump in the future?
Many have speculated whether Trump will run again in 2024. The fact remains he will have to run against any other conservatives in the Republican primary.
It’s possible he might see a familiar face running against him: Mike Pence.
Is Pence preparing his own presidential run? Or is he simply continuing his work to protect conservative values?
- Reports indicate Mike Pence will start his own political committee.
- Committees let figures stay involved in politics.
- It might suggest he intends to run for office in the future.
