After the incident at the Capitol on January 6th, Speaker Pelosi and the Democrats imposed new rules for being on the floor of the Capital. It seems, though, that Nancy Pelosi doesn’t want to follow her own rules.
These new rules included hefty fines for dodging around the new metal detectors installed at the Capital building. As a result, two House Republicans were each fined $5,000 for avoiding the metal detectors. Each offense after would be $10,000.
Even though the Democrats led by Nancy Pelosi imposed these rules, Republicans are now claiming they caught her breaking her own rules by coming through the Speaker’s lobby. This entryway was the cause of a Republican being fined the previous day!
From Fox News:
“She opened the session on the floor, she came through what is known as the Speaker’s lobby,” Davis said. “We are all told, one Republican was fined for doing this just yesterday, that you cannot walk through those entrances unless you are disabled.”
Speaker Pelosi is a prime example of how Democrats are ready to impose their own rules on others but aren’t willing to follow the rules themselves.
Republicans that were forced to pay the fine are outraged. But do you think the Speaker will actually pay the fine she’s telling them to pay?
I don’t blame those Republicans. How can someone claim to be a leader in Washington not even abide by their own rules?
Pelosi enacted these rules under the guise of safety. If the top dog of the Democrats won’t even follow the rules, why should anyone?
If Pelosi isn’t willing to pay the fine, then Republicans should stand up to the Speaker for trying to rule the House with an iron fist.
Maybe House Democrats will finally realize the mistake they made choosing Pelosi for another term—and select someone more fair and competent for the job.
Do you think Pelosi should continue to be Speaker of the House?
- New Capital rules come with new fines for missing the metal detector.
- Fines have been levied on multiple Republicans already.
- Pelosi has been accused of dodging the metal detector but hasn’t paid the fine.
