Despite America continuing to endure a global pandemic, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi plays partisan politics.
She recently criticized infectious disease expert Dr. Birx, claiming that because she was chosen by Trump, Pelosi had no confidence in her.
It appears Birx caved, changing her overall optimistic tone to say the COVID is now “different” and “extraordinarily widespread.”
Trump quickly responded:
President Trump claimed Monday that White House Coronavirus Task Force coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx, who told CNN on Sunday that the pandemic is now “different” than it was before and “extraordinarily widespread,” was caving to pressure from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who had harsh words for Birx.
“So Crazy Nancy Pelosi said horrible things about Dr. Deborah Birx, going after her because she was too positive on the very good job we are doing on combatting the China Virus, including Vaccines & Therapeutics. In order to counter Nancy, Deborah took the bait & hit us. Pathetic!”
President Trump fired back at Dr. Birx, saying she took the “bait” from Nancy Pelosi. He accused Birx of hitting “us,” meaning the White House and its task force.
Birx had previously signaled an optimistic tone regarding the country’s response to the virus. She celebrated the efforts of state and local leaders to address the situation.
She even celebrated the quick progress on vaccines and various, effective treatments.
But after Nancy Pelosi attacked her, in an obvious partisan jab, the doctor struck a significantly darker tone in a recent appearance.
She claimed the virus was “widespread,” seemingly to appease the left who appears determined to spread as much fear and panic over the virus as possible.
It seems Birx did not reiterate positive aspects of the country’s response and recovery, apparently only willing to bend to the demands of the left-leaning media.
President Trump went as far as to call the doctor “pathetic” for her response.
It appears the president is disappointed that someone working so closely with the administration would be so quick to spread negative sentiments.
Birx, above every else, has seen what private business and the federal government has done to save lives. She knows the overall death rate of the virus—and how states are bravely protecting citizens while remaining open.
Yet despite that, she is spreading a negative view of the situation.
President Trump appears to be slamming Birx for refusing to stick to her guns and bend so easily to those who want the country to fail.
- Birx recently spread a negative sentiment on the virus, saying it is “widespread.”
- This comes after Nancy Pelosi slammed the doctor as a partisan pawn.
- President Trump called Birx pathetic for taking Pelosi’s “bait.”
