Democrats in Congress are obsessed about one thing and one thing only: boxing out Republicans.
They want to make sure Republicans have no say in the future of our country. Knowing plenty of things can change in 2022, they want to ensure they have an iron grip on the federal government for years to come.
They want to add Senate seats, House seats, and expand their Electoral College margin to secure the White House. And all it would take is two flipped Democrat votes in the Senate to kill the filibuster.
From NY Post:
The effort to undo the Senate’s legislative filibuster is an un-American, Constitution-eroding, radical play to nationalize politics by empowering slim and fleeting majorities to institute wide-ranging, generational policies…
Democrats say they can’t pass any important bills to “fund new roads” or “expand early voting” or “protect migrant children.” There are no such bills. There are boondoggle voting, immigration and “infrastructure” bills stuffed with policies that should be none of the federal government’s concern.
And Trump is giving the party fair warning.
From The Hill:
Former President Trump is warning Republicans that any effort to abolish the Senate filibuster would cause irreparable damage to the party…
“And if they get the filler, he’s hanging on [Democratic Sen.] Joe Manchin, who always goes with the Democrats. Joe talks, but he ends up going with the Democrats. Now there’s another great senator from the state of Arizona. He’s hanging by a thread and if they get rid of the filibuster, if they knock it out, it will be catastrophic for the Republican Party.”
Should Republicans buckle over the filibuster, there would be no stopping Democrats’ socialist nightmare.
Without the 60-vote rule to end the filibuster, Democrats could force their agenda with a slim majority vote. There’d be no debate over the validity of legislation. No compromise. Not even respect for the wishes of the American people.
Democrats would likely ride roughshod over everyone and everything, including the Constitution.
And Sleepy Joe Biden would just be a rubber-stamping machine, signing off on anything that crosses his desk.
But only a few Democrats in the Senate support the filibuster. Trump warns that if it goes away, there won’t be a Republican Party anymore.
During Trump’s time in office, Republicans enjoyed a majority for two years. Had they wanted to, they could have gotten rid of the filibuster.
They would have run over Democrats with their agenda—refusing to respect their input.
Instead, Democrats want to eliminate any opportunity the minority voice in Congress has. Don’t they care about minorities? Or do they only care when they can exploit them for votes?
Democrats are showing they are very undemocratic when it comes to protecting our traditions and balance of power.
They want to cram their toxic agenda down our throat. But as McConnell once warned, if they do it, they’ll be sure to regret it.
- Democrats want to force their agenda in D.C.—but need to get rid of the filibuster.
- Donald Trump warned Republicans if they allow Democrats to do this, their party is gone.
- Democrats want to eliminate the one rule that respects the minority party’s voice.
