After being MIA for years, Barack Obama has returned to try to give Biden a little bit of star power. Is it helping?
It seems Obama is bucking tradition by getting involved in a presidential election, unlike most former presidents.
He gave a very political speech at John Lewis’ funeral. Also, he endorsed over 100 candidates.
And he’s trying to raise millions for Biden. How has that impacted Trump, in recent days?
It hasn’t gone well… for Obama:
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 51% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Forty-seven percent (47%) disapprove.
The latest Rasmussen approval poll has Trump’s rating at 51%. It is, in fact, seven points higher than Obama’s at the same time in his presidency.
Trump had to note the amazing news, though he underreported the good news:
96% Approval Rating in the Republican Party. 50% in new Rasmussen Poll (higher than Obama at this point in time). Thank you!
Obama, you might remember, enjoyed near-perfect media coverage during his entire time in office. Rarely did the liberal-leaning media criticize their “golden boy.”
Even then, his approval always hovered around or below 50%.
Meanwhile, the mainstream media has provided over 90% negative coverage of the Trump administration. Some outlets are openly hostile to the president.
Yet he is enjoying a higher approval than Obama did at this time (and Obama went on to win reelection).
Obama has stayed relatively quiet since he left office. He campaigned for Hillary, after all, and that didn’t go over well.
It appeared Obama was willing to retire to private life, enjoying his million-dollar home on Martha’s Vineyard.
Yet he decided to drag himself back into the limelight. All for what? To help Joe Biden get elected?
Joe Biden continues to show signs of serious mental decline. He has yet to announce his running mate. And some think he will back out of debates with Trump.
Despite what some polls might say, Biden is flailing. He rarely does press conferences and hasn’t held a major event in months.
What does Obama think he is doing to accomplished? Judging from this recent poll, not much.
- Obama has begun campaigning for 2020, endorsing candidates and raising funds.
- At the same time, Trump is 7 points higher than Obama at the same time.
- Joe Biden continues to show little leadership and stamina during the election.
