There seems to be a widespread case of mass delusion sweeping across U.S. college campuses. The line between fantasy and reality seems to be so blurred that highly educated people can’t see what is right in front of their eyes.
Pro-Palestinian protesters have swarmed college campuses, taking over buildings, damaging property, threatening Jewish students, and demanding concessions from school officials. Some terrorist-sympathizing groups have even succeeded in forcing school administrators to cave to their demands.
Reaction from leftists and their media allies has once again followed the liberal narrative that all is well and there’s nothing really to see here. The problem with that interpretation is that video of the protesters and eye-witness accounts from police tell the real story.
From the Daily Caller:
New York Police Department Chief of Patrol John Chell ripped pro-Palestine activists Wednesday on Fox Business, stating that their claims of the recent take over being peaceful at Columbia University were “pure delusion.”“So we went on campus last night to enforce the laws, the burglary of the hall, the school’s request for the trespassing,” Chell went on. “We went in there very heavy. We wanted to send a message to the world, to the city: that’s not happening here. Our cops did a great job, no one got hurt, no incidents and we sent a very strong message.”
NYPD took back Columbia’s Hamilton Hall which was seized by activists. Video footage – from the protesters – showed them hiding behind black masks, breaking a glass door, and allegedly holding a custodial worker hostage.
Chell provided an inside look at the Columbia protesters actions during a segment of “The Bottom Line” on Fox Business. He was asked by Sean Duffy about protesters committing “criminal damage to property” at the school and the media calling it a “peaceful protest.”
“That’s pure delusion. If you look at the girl that was just on speaking — classic, no accountability, ‘I’m a spoiled child, I break the rules, and instead of being [held] accountable now I’m going to play the victim.’ Well not in this city,” Chell stated.
NYPD arrested dozens of activists at Hamilton Hall where they had barricaded themselves inside the building using furniture. University officials said the decision was made to allow NYPD to “restore safety and order” for the school after activists escalated the situation.
After the University learned overnight that Hamilton Hall had been occupied, vandalized, and blockaded, we were left with no choice,” a Columbia statement read. “Columbia public safety personnel were forced out of the building, and a member of our facilities team was threatened.”
The delusion of leftists that allows these anti-Israel, pro-terrorist protest to take place has now placed schools across the country in jeopardy. It’s time to restore safety and order on all affected campuses.
Key Takeaways:
- NYPD chief said calling violent actions at colleges “peaceful protests” is “pure delusion.”
- Police in the Big Apple stormed a college building and hauled away dozens of protesters.
- Columbia University said safety and order had to be restored by removing the agitators.
