Recently, President Trump said he might actually win New York in the November election.
Democrats were quick to mock him. After all, New York is a deeply blue state.
But Trump pointed to the poor leadership of NY’s Democrat leaders. Crime is surging, thanks to Mayor de Blasio and his lack of support for police. Taxes are historically high, hurting working-class and middle-class families.
Things might be turning Trump’s way already. Democrats are very unhappy after this major announcement:
The New York Police Department (NYPD) union faced blowback from local Democrats after it endorsed President Trump’s reelection amid budget cuts and tensions between police and city lawmakers…
“I have 36 years on this job, 21 as the president of this fine organization. I cannot remember when we’ve ever endorsed for Office of the President of the United States, until now. That’s how important this is,” Lynch said.
The New York Police Department union (the New York City Police Benevolent Association) endorsed President Trump for re-election.
According to the PBA president, Pat Lynch, this was the first time the union ever endorsed a presidential candidate.
Democrats are already outraged and are trying to put the heat on the police union. But perhaps it’s not going to work.
Considering how little Democrats have been supporting cops lately, it’s unlikely any officer (or union) will listen to their demands.
Other police unions across the country have endorsed Donald Trump’s re-election bid. They have joined other labor unions that have crossed sides to back Trump since his win in 2016.
Unions were once a stronghold among Democratic candidates. But in recent years, the Democrats’ platform has strayed far away from supporting working Americans.
Most major Democrats have supported defunding PDs in one form or another. Joe Biden has said police are “the enemy” and supported moving funds from them to other places.
This might be a sign that many New Yorkers are starting to support Donald Trump.
The wealthy are fleeing, taking their families (and businesses) to other states. Cuomo has even begged them to come back since they provide 50% of the states’ tax revenue.
Even if some do go back, taxes are sure to rise after 6 months of lockdown.
President Trump has been outspoken against Cuomo and de Blasio’s disastrous decisions. The president has even promised to bring back New York, if he’s re-elected.
- Democrats are outraged after New York’s police union officially endorsed Donald Trump.
- It is the first time the PBA officially backed a presidential candidate.
- Trump previously said he’s campaign is working to win New York.
