President Trump made news years ago when he announced the next Air Force One would be impressive—and affordable.
But he’s already looking to the future. He just announced a contract with a company to build the next, next AFO.
The impressive, futuristic craft would be fast. Very fast. How fast? It can cross the Atlantic in record time:
An aerospace company called Hermeus on Thursday announced a contract with the US Air Force and the Presidential and Executive Airlift Directorate to develop a hypersonic aircraft for the presidential fleet…
Hermeus said it won the contract after designing, building, and successfully testing a prototype of an engine capable of propelling an airplane to Mach 5, or five times the speed of sound… Hermeus emerged last year, announcing plans to develop a Mach 5 aircraft that could fly from New York to Paris in about 90 minutes.
Here’s how it might look:
Wow! Hermeus has built and successfully tested an engine that can propel an airplane to Mach 5, five times the speed of sound.
A craft that fast could cross the Atlantic Ocean in about 90 minutes.
The company will build a “demonstrator” vehicle over the next five years. They will build commercial aircraft, with presumably similar speeds, in the next decade.
It should come as no surprise that this company, leading the way in air travel, would catch the eye of Donald Trump.
President Trump has promised American innovation to be the best in the world. He wants American companies (and military) to be leading the world.
This company certainly appears to be providing the very best.
Not only will Air Force One be incredibly fast, but this technology will be used for the Air Force jets of the future.
- The White House just announced a new contract with company Hermeus.
- The company will be tasked with building the future Air Force One.
- Their engine has speeds of up to Mach 5, which can cross the Atlantic in 90 minutes.
