Newt Gingrich has been around Washington for many years and he knows a thing or two about politics.
He’s watching what’s going on within the Democratic Party and it’s reminding him of something.
The former Speaker has studied all the details and noticed a pattern emerging.
He’s confident this election looks a lot like the 1972 race when Democrat George McGovern crashed and burned.
And he’s giving three reasons why:
First, presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is clearly incapable of functioning as president…
Harris will prove to be the most disastrous vice presidential nominee since Sen. Tom Eagleton, D-Mo., had to resign from the McGovern ticket…
Finally, as the depth of radicalism of the Biden-Harris platform and the Chuck Schumer-Nancy Pelosi legislative agenda become clear to the American people, they will be increasingly alienated from the new radical Democratic Party and its candidates.
Gingrich has discovered three parallels between the Biden/Harris ticket and the Democrats’ candidate from 1972.
And he’s predicting Biden’s campaign will collapse, the same as McGovern’s did.
Gingrich is ignoring the many mainstream media polls that still have Biden beating Trump by a close margin.
Why would the former Speaker make such a bold claim? He’s pointing to three big reasons.
The first is the evidence of Biden’s mental decline. Gingrich notes the disturbing trend that “each passing week” Biden appears weaker and weaker.
He goes on to predict the Harris will be the worst Democratic vice presidential pick since 1972. Back then, McGovern’s pick, Eagleton had to resign from the ticket.
The truth is, the news that Harris is Biden’s running mate has not seemed to help him. In fact, some evidence suggests she might even be hurting his campaign.
Perhaps the biggest reason is the fact that the Democratic Party, led by Pelosi and Schumer, is pushing the most radical agenda ever. From defunding the police to supporting riots and crime, little of the left’s platform appeals to regular Americans.
The 1972 election was a landslide victory for Republicans, with most of the electoral map lit up red.
Will 2020 be the same? Gingrich thinks so. He’s ignoring the media’s polls are looking at real indicators.
- Newt Gingrich is predicting the Democrat ticket for 2020 will collapse like it did in 1972.
- Gingrich points to three reasons the Biden/Harris ticket is similar to the McGovern ticket.
