Remember all the noise Nancy Pelosi and Democrats made after the events of January 6?
They failed to protect the Capitol, despite knowing a massive rally was being held.
Then, all of a sudden, Pelosi wanted tens of thousands of National Guardsmen to protect D.C. And she didn’t want them to leave.
Many states were outraged and ordered their soldiers home. But thousands more stayed, often being forced to sleep in garages.
Now, finally, the last troops are leaving Washington. But the American taxpayer will be left with the bill.
From Washington Examiner:
The National Guard Bureau estimated the initial mission cost from January through March to be $410 million, and the extension until Monday cost an additional $111 million for a massive $521 million bill to protect a vast perimeter of the Capitol grounds through the winter and spring.
Democrats failed to protect the Capitol on January 6—even though it was Pelosi’s job to do so.
Immediately afterward, they made a big show of force in the city, despite a lack of threat anywhere.
National guardsmen were seen in every corner of the Capitol. Razor wire and fencing surrounding our federal government buildings.
The city—that once represented our values and freedoms—looked more like something from a communist dictatorship.
Sort of appropriate, huh?
Since January, there have been few significant signs of danger in D.C. Nothing that demanded thousands of our soldiers.
Yet it will still cost Americans half a billion dollars for this deployment of our troops.
Here’s a question: why didn’t Democrats demand the National Guard when our cities were burning last summer?
Endless rioting and looting were going on across blue cities. BLM activists and Antifa anarchists were destroying our country.
Yet very few Democratic governors or mayors bothered to use the National Guard to end these riots.
But Pelosi demanded National Guardsmen to babysit D.C. for five months?
Something’s not right.
- The last of the National Guard will be leaving Washington, D.C.
- The final cost of the deployment will be over $500 million.
- Democrats demanded the guardsmen, despite a lack of threat.
