But recently, a large collection of media outlets made a bold attack against the network. And Trump is not taking this lying down. He just fired back with a massive suit.

Trump-backed social media company Truth Social launched a defamation suit on Monday against 20 [mainstream] media companies…The suit alleges that there has been “an unprecedented and seemingly coordinated media campaign by no less than 20 major media outlets, to attack Trump Media & Technology Group (“TMTG”) and its social media platform, Truth Social, by falsely reporting that TMTG had lost $73 million.”
Trump has launched a lawsuit against 20 media outlets who reported that his social network lost $73 million. The companies include Guardian, Hollywood Reporter, the Miami Herald, Reuters, Rolling Stone, The Hill, Deadline, Benzinga, Marketwatch, Forbes, Axios, The Daily Beast, Gizmodo, Salon, The New York Daily News, Newsweek, MSNBC, Mediaite, The Daily Mail, and CNBC.
The suit claims these outlets cited an SEC filing that the company lost money. But Trump stated that the filing does not contain this loss amount. The lawsuit goes on to accuse these media outlets of trying to “hinder an anticipated merger.”
According to the report, these outlets ran “nearly identical” headlines within 24 hours of each other, making the claim about TRUTH Social. The lawsuit claims the reports “deeply harmed” the company and is “eroding faith” in its management. The articles allegedly made it harder for TRUTH to raise “additional funds” while anticipating the merger.
It appears Trump is accusing the mainstream media of deliberately sabotaging one of his businesses. His supporters will no doubt agree, given the media’s long history of negative news coverage of Trump, his businesses, and his political career.
The lawsuit is demanding damages from these media outlets in the amount of $1.5 billion.
